Paul and Emily are happy to open their home, Coopey Creek, to host a writer's workshop on October 3rd, 2015.
In the dramatic and inspiring surroundings of the Columbia River Gorge (just under 30 minutes from Portland), this will be an intimate day-long intensive limited to 10 people.
Our Fall 2015 theme is VOICE. Talks and group sessions will focus on finding, sharpening, and growing our individual expressive voice as writers and artists. Practical tips, inspiration, and opportunities for conversation will take place throughout the day, with lulls for contemplation, hiking to a nearby waterfall, focused writing, and laughter.
We will examine the elements of excellent prose, discuss what makes our best writing personal, hone our voices through an extended writing exercise, and discuss how to do reader-based revision without losing style.
Morning refreshments and a hearty lunch will be provided.
